The Forschungszentrum Europa is the organisational coalition of research associations and research initiatives that deal with the central theme „Europe: Structures of Long Term and Present Problems“. In the FZE, humanities scholars and social scientists from more than ten disciplines work together in projects or project networks of different sizes. These groups are autonomous and have their own research funds.
