On Tuesday 29 October 2019 the president of Trier University Prof. Dr. Michael Jäckel and the head of the department for commemorative work of the “Landeszentrale für politische Bildung” Uwe Bader founded SEAL („Strukturen und Erinnerung. Angewandte Geschichtswissenschaft und digitale Lehre“), a research and documentation center that focuses on researching the history of the Nazi era in the Rhineland-Palatinate. The management is shared by Dr. Thomas Grotum, Lena Haase and Prof. Dr. Lutz Raphael.
